What If Ministering Is Practice for Zion?
What if ministering isn’t one more thing to add to your already-full plate but part of Christ’s way of teaching you that you were never meant to carry it alone? When we think about ministering, it can be easy to think about assignments, visits, texts we should have sent, or one more responsibility we need to squeeze into an already busy life. But what if ministering is about something much bigger? In this episode, we’re looking at ministering as a way Christ teaches us to become more like Him and even as practice for becoming a Zion people. We’ll talk about learning to notice and love people outside our normal circles, why receiving help can be just as important as giving it, and why being overwhelmed doesn’t necessarily mean you have nothing to offer. Zion isn’t made up of perfectly self-sufficient people. It’s made up of people whose hearts are knit together people who learn how to carry one another. In this episode, we’ll talk about: Why President Russell M. Nelson called ministering a “newer, holier approach” and what it might look like to minister in the Savior’s way. How ministering can become part of our apprenticeship with Jesus Christ, helping us practice noticing, loving, listening, and showing up for the one. What it means to have our hearts “knit together” and why the small, ordinary acts of connection may actually be helping us practice becoming Zion. Why an overwhelmed woman still has something to give and why Zion needs receivers, too. How to use discernment to know whether Christ is inviting you to serve, rest, reach out, ask for help, or simply let someone else love you today. Maybe ministering isn’t just about making sure everyone gets checked on. Maybe it’s one of the ways Jesus Christ is teaching us, stitch by stitch and heart by heart, how to become Zion. 🤍 CONNECT WITH KIRSTIN Instagram: @shinemommyshine Website: Kirstin Baxter Coaching FREE RESOURCE: The 6 Motherhood Myths That Keep You Overwhelmed Grab your free copy and begin identifying some of the beliefs that may be adding unnecessary pressure to motherhood.
